What Dr. Calendine's Patients Are Saying...

Total Knee Replacement with Kristy Altman
When chronic knee pain struck Kristy Altman right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, she knew delaying her care was not an option. Although retired, Kristy was called back to her teaching position in 2019, and soon, her knee pain became so severe she was no longer able to stand in front of her classes. A visit to the Bone and Joint Institute’s Cory Calendine, M.D., revealed that she had severe arthritis and would need a total knee replacement...

I [can't] say enough about Dr. Calendine! Technically, outstanding and bed side manner unparalleled! I had TKR in Aug., was very concerned. Had just lost my daughter in Jan. I asked if I could play her favorite song in the OR. I remember very little about the OR, but hearing her favorite song. That’s the mark of a caring Dr. The little things, the things that matter. His staff, Kaycee, his PA always available for questions. Also the triage nurse’s out standing. I must also mention very little pain after surgery. Dr. C prides himself with heading off the pain. He certainly did that for me.

I had a total knee replacement in July 2022. I've waited until now to give a review. I kept waiting to see if anything would be less than acceptable during this time and that never happened. From the very first visit to my last visit for my final checkup never have I been taken on an appointment past my appointed time. Everyone is caring, professional, and at all times interested in my well being. I made sure Dr. Calendine understood prior to surgery I did not want to be in pain. His words to me were, we will not let you be in pain. He was true to his word. My recovery time was minimal I was through with physical therapy and off pain meds in five weeks. When I had questions concerning my recovery at home a nurse was always available to speak with me that day, impressive. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Cory Calendine, his staff, Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee or Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee to anyone.

We just moved to the area and I was referred by my new PCP to Dr Calendine. What a wonderful experience it was to meet Dr. Calendine. He evaluated my needs, listened to my concerns and treated me with kindness and respect. I feel very blessed to have found and orthopedist I can trust with my health needs. I am facing a knee replacement in the near future and am confident in his skill and care that will be provided. Thank you for a very positive experience. I appreciate not just being another faceless patient!

Saw Dr. Calendine yesterday for the first time. He was HIGHLY recommended by my rheumatologist. I absolutely LOVE his philosophy of letting your body (not X-rays and tests) dictate actions taken! He really listened to everything I was telling him I was experiencing. He took time to concentrate on ME and did not seemed rushed, like he needed to get on to the next patient. His staff was amazingly helpful, considerate and also seemed fully engaged with ME and my needs. I also love that they make full use of technology for communication regarding your care from the online patient portal, to text messaging, to their website with great resources and information... I also waited less than 10 minutes before being seen, and was called in exactly at the time of my appointment. THIS practice is what EVERY medical provider should strive to be!!
